Course IntroductionHealth is an exciting course to offer students! No other subject you study is more fundamental to your daily living than the study of health. Whether physical, social, mental, emotional, spiritual...all aspects of health are critically important to living a full and prolonged life. The skills you learn through health education will help you achieve the life-long goals you set for yourself while maintaining or improving your current level of health. You can use your health education to empower friends and family members to choose healthier lifestyles as well, lending to a global awareness of well-being.

Monday
- For Methods of Consumption, how is the drug put in the body?
- For Classifications, what terminology applies to the abused substance (i.e. legal/illegal, organic/synthetic,
depressant/stimulant/hallucinogen, club drug, gateway drug, etc.)?
- Short-term effects would be those experienced while the substance is present in the body (typically in hours).
- Long-term effects would be those experienced as a result of or as consequences to consistent abuse (months to
years).

- Finish watching "The METH Epidemic" Video (notes can be taken on pg. 47 on the "Meth" line)
- Using the DEA's Substances of Abuse Booklet and/or the National Institute for Drug Abuse website, complete the abused substances table on pages 46-47 of your notes.
